Review: What's good about these books is their repetitiveness. My three year old gets into the rhythm and can "read the book to me" after only one or two times of reading the book. I like this book in particular because of it's humor and typical Willems "twist." In most of his books you think you see where the story is headed and then something unexpected breaks the mold (both of the story up to that point and of the rhyming pattern itself). Without spoiling anything, I really like the ending to this one.
Part of a series: Cat the Cat series titles include:
- What's Your Sound Hound the Hound? - A top favorite
- Time To Sleep Sheep the Sheep - My other top favorite in the series - teaches bedtime routine, very silly
- Cat The Cat Who is That? - This one is so-so, teaches meeting new friends and tolerance of new/different
- Let's Say Hi to Friends that Fly - I was disappointed with this one. Nothing bad, just didn't enjoy it.
- Who Flies Cat the Cat? - This is a board book version of "Let's Say Hi to Friends Who Fly"
- Who Sleeps Cat the Cat? - This is a board book version of "Time To Sleep Sheep the Sheep"
