Brief synopsis (no spoilers):
A close-knit but eclectic group of travelers reunite in Solace after being apart for five years. But the Solace they find has changed a great deal, starting with occupation by a Draconian army. They add two barbarians to their group, and set off in search of answers about the magical staff one of the barbarians carries. One thing's for sure- by the end of the story, there will be dragons.
Category:
Fantasy
Why I chose this book:
I read it as a teenager, but don't remember much, so wanted to try it again.
My personal opinion:
This was a fun read. The story is interesting and the content is clean. I'm a sucker for magic and dragons, though, so it was pretty much a guaranteed thing that I'd like it.
Warnings
Language: None
Violence: Fighting is frequent but not graphic
"Adult" situations: Some reference to physical attraction, and a few references to the anatomical features of some women
Death: Some, but not frequent
Movie rating equivalent:
PG-13
Protagonist description:
Tanis is the leader of the group. He's half elf, half human, so he has a complicated identity
Point of view of story:
Third person, omniscient
Book length:
Medium-long
Story flow:
Excellent
Grammar and spelling issues:
None
Character connection (no spoilers):
I'd love more back story on everyone
