Brief synopsis (no spoilers)
People of the Clans in the Sacred Valley practice mystical arts to improve themselves. There are four disciplines in the arts, and children are tested to see which best fits them. Lindon is unique in that he is neutral and weak in his abilities. But he feels a strong need to progress, just like everyone else.

My personal opinion (the review)
This is definitely the best book I've read this year! I absolutely am going to buy the next book in the series right now and start it immediately. One warning: the book uses a ton of unfamiliar terminology, and is brief on the explanations. So be prepared to use context clue, and to fill in many blanks yourself. The story line is excellent, the language is clean, and the characters are credible. Fantastic story.
