The Glitch by Ramona Finn

Brief synopsis (no spoilers)
Lib wakes up in a desert, outside a wall, with no memories. She later remembers her name, but that's all. She knows she's different from the Rogues (normal humans, choosing to live outside the wall), and the Glitches (former residents inside the wall, banished for some malfunction), but she's not sure what she really is. She has one driving purpose, though: find the Glitches.

Why I chose this book
Recommended by Amazon, on sale

My personal opinion (the review)
The story was engaging, the characters were credible, the plot was very interesting, the back story was lacking, but I think that was intended to build intrigue. In my opinion, this isn't the first book in a series. This is one huge book that was split into 3 parts. This book cannot stand on its own two feet- it completely leads into the next book, and is obviously dependent on the story continuing. Thankfully, the series is inexpensive, so I will probably continue. But it's not going on my Top 10 list, for sure.

Warnings
Language: Minor, infrequent
Violence: Fighting, but not graphic
"Adult" situations: Romantic feelings, one fully-clothed moment
Death: Yes, and of major characters

Movie rating equivalent
PG-16 (not R, but I won't let my 14-year old read it)

Protagonist description
Lib is different from everyone else, but she doesn't really know why

Point of view of story
First, focused on Lib

Book length
Medium

Story flow
Excellent

Grammar and spelling issues
A few minor issues, but nothing too distracting

Character connection (no spoilers)
There must be more than just the one clan of Rogues; I'd like to learn more about them

For series:
Independent or integral (stand-alone or back story dependent)
Assuming integral

Series review as a whole
