Lola's gypsy family is from a war-ravaged area of Spain, so she moves to a nearby city and travels to the festival to showcase her dancing ability (Flamenco). It was a compelling story, for the first thirty percent of the book (I did not finish reading it). I was genuinely intrigued to find out what happened to Rose's brother.
